ONE TECHNOLOGICAL PLATFORM — MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS
Quantum Drive is being developed as a modular, dual-use electromagnetic platform whose core technological building blocks can be adapted to multiple industrial environments.
By combining electromagnetic systems, HTS superconductors, rapid energy storage, SiC power electronics, cryogenics, instrumentation and advanced control, Quantum Drive provides a common technological foundation for several potential applications.
The strategy is to develop and experimentally validate this technological core, then progressively adapt it to the applications offering the greatest operational and industrial value.
1 — DEFENCE & INFRASTRUCTURE PROTECTION
COUNTER-UAV / COUNTER-UAS
The first strategic application under development concerns protection against hostile unmanned aerial systems.
Quantum Drive is investigating a pulsed electromagnetic architecture intended to counter or neutralise hostile drones through effects on their onboard electronic systems.
Potential applications include:
• Critical infrastructure
• Energy facilities
• Sensitive industrial sites
• Ports and maritime infrastructure
• Logistics facilities
• Strategic areas
The modular architecture allows both dedicated installations and mobile configurations to be considered.
2 — MOBILE PLATFORMS & DEPLOYABLE SYSTEMS
Integration onto mobile platforms represents a second major development pathway.
Heavy-duty carrier vehicles can integrate the electromagnetic system, energy storage, cryogenics, power electronics, instrumentation and control systems within a single platform.
This approach enables the development of repositionable systems that can be deployed according to operational or experimental requirements.
The same integration philosophy can also be adapted to maritime platforms.
3 — AEROSPACE & HIGH-SPEED RESEARCH
A. MICROSATELLITES & SMALL PAYLOADS
One of the principal civilian applications being investigated is electromagnetic assistance for the acceleration and launch of microsatellites and small space payloads.
Quantum Drive's modular architecture enables the study of successive electromagnetic sections contributing to progressive and controlled acceleration.
This represents a longer-term development pathway for New Space, telecommunications, Earth observation and orbital infrastructure applications.
B. HYPERSONIC ACCELERATION RESEARCH
A further research pathway concerns the electromagnetic acceleration of payloads to very high velocities.
Quantum Drive modelling includes a theoretical reference configuration involving a payload of approximately 6 kg, with a target velocity of up to Mach 7.
This architecture is being investigated in conjunction with the concept of a pulsed electromagnetic vortex at the system exit. The scientific objective is to study whether electromagnetic interaction with the surrounding medium could temporarily modify the atmospheric conditions encountered during high-speed propagation.
These phenomena remain to be characterised and experimentally validated as part of the TRL 3–5 development programme.

4 — ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES & HIGH-POWER SYSTEMS
Several technologies developed within Quantum Drive may also have industrial value independently of the complete platform.
These include:
• HTS superconducting systems
• SMES energy storage
• SiC power electronics
• Cryogenic technologies
• Rapid switching architectures
• Advanced control and synchronisation systems
These technological building blocks may create opportunities for specialised industrial partnerships and derivative applications in systems requiring rapid and precisely controlled energy management.
5 — RESEARCH, TESTING & TECHNOLOGICAL INFRASTRUCTURES
The Quantum Drive demonstrator is also conceived as an experimental research platform.
Its instrumentation will enable the study and validation of interactions between:
• Electromagnetic fields
• Superconducting systems
• Energy storage
• Power electronics
• Cryogenics
• Advanced materials
• Control and synchronisation
This capability may be relevant to laboratories, testing centres, universities and industrial partners working on advanced electromagnetic and energy technologies.
A COMMON DUAL-USE TECHNOLOGICAL CORE
Quantum Drive's industrial strategy is based on a fundamental principle: develop and validate a common technological foundation capable of supporting multiple markets.

FROM TECHNOLOGY TO MARKET
The current priority is the experimental validation of the technological core and the development of a representative TRL 5 demonstrator.
This stage is intended to generate measurable and reproducible physical data and provide the foundation for identifying, together with industrial partners, the applications offering the strongest development potential.
The same technological foundation and intellectual property portfolio can therefore support several industrial pathways, including co-development, system integration, technology transfer and industrial licensing.
ONE TECHNOLOGY — MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS
Quantum Drive is conceived as an evolving technological platform rather than a product restricted to a single application.
DEFENCE • MOBILITY • MARITIME • AEROSPACE • ENERGY • RESEARCH
One technological platform — multiple applications — multiple industries — multiple opportunities.
